Could not find -Xrun library: jvmpi-agent.dll

Postby marco » Wed Jul 30, 2008 6:41 am

Hi,

I've successfuly instaled CodePro Profiler on windows machine. But I have troubles when I wanna start profile an application (local application inside eclipse environment).
The output which I got is just:
>>>
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not find -Xrun library: jvmpi-agent.dll
<<<

I am running eclipse 3.3.2 with java 1.6.0_07. But the program runs with java 1.4.2_18. I've tryed to put agent.dll and jvmpi-agent.dll in many dirs but with no success. I've put it in: c:\windows\system32, also in bin directory of java... Can you please help me with this issue.

Thanks a lot,

Marco

Hello, Marc.
Sorry, but there is some issue with 1.5 build which caused your problem. Try the latest build of the profiler, it shouldn't have the issue.
And by the way, I recommend to profile your application on more recent JVM - in this case you will have more information like, say, thread profiling.

Hi,

i entirely agree with you regarding version of java we are using, but we are more or less locked to this version until our subcontractors upgrade the solution to 1.6.

I will try the latest build...

Thanks for hint,

Marco

Did the latest build work?

I'm having a very similar problem. I'm using Eclipse 3.2 and I've downloaded your latest build, although my default JRE is 1.4 due to our project requirements. The message is slightly different, I get :

[CodePro Profiler] Wrong option "mos"="1024"
Error occurred during initialization of VM
-Xrun library failed to init: jvmpi-agent

What version of Profiler are you using? Have you tried the very latest build?
