Install Google CodePro on RAD7.5

Hello all,

first of all, congrats for such a great tool.

Second, I'm encountering a problem with installing on RAD7.5:

I'm getting an error :

An error occurred during provisioning. Failed to prepare partial IU: [R]org.apache.xerces 2.8.0.v200705301630.

Can I have some ideas for unblocking this issue?

How exactly are you installing CodePro and what point does it fail?

Hi and thank you for your reply.

I'm installing through Software Updates -> adding new Site -> the URL: http://dl.google.com/eclipse/inst/codepro/latest/3.4
since the IBM RAD 7.5 is based on 3.4 (correct me if I'm wrong..).

After selecting all the CodePro's components, and Next -> Next -> .. I'm getting the error.

One other thing noticed:

the installation works perfectly on newly installation of RAD on a machine connected directly to Internet.

My problem is on a machine connected to Internet through an Proxy and with many other plugins installed (ClearCase, etc..)

Thanks for the additional information.

For starters, you can take a look at the Eclipse .log file in your workspace\.metadata directory for any clues.
If there's nothing obvious in the log, we'll need your help to figure out what's causing the error. First, temporarily disable proxy then try to install to see if you still get the error. If not, then try disabling Clearcase and so on...

We should also point that the error you are seeing...

...has nothing to do with installing CodePro. That would be an Eclipse Update Manager issue....and it is well known that the Update Manager in Eclipse 3.4 was very, very fragile.

The fact that it works on a new RAD installation would seem to imply that the p2 cache in your existing RAD installation may be corrupt (an all too common problem) or something else is interfering with the normal operation of the Update Manager.

Actually, I've just realized that the problem happened on Rational Software Architect, and the installation was OK on Rational Application Developer. So, probably that was the reason.
