How to install CP into RSA/RAD 7.0?

Postby mikesmithson » Sun Jan 14, 2007 8:12 am

Hello:
I have tried, in vain, to install CP Analytix and CP Studio into RSA/RAD 7.0 without any luck. I tried using the Windows Installer and the .zip distros to install into those platforms. Does RAD/RSA 7 understand the concept of a links folder? Thanks.....

We are currently working on an updated installer that will work with RAD7. We hope to have it available in the next week or so.

Have you been able to install any other Eclipse 3.2 based plugins? Have you asked IBM how to install an arbitrary Eclipse plug-in into RAD7?

That's not entirely clear. RAD7 seems to be locked up pretty tight. It is definitley not "plug-in friendly", and it definitely does not follow the normal Eclipse 3.2 rules. I think that was a very unfortunate decision on IBM's part.

After putting the .link file in place, have you tried restarting with -clean?

Hi Eric:
I did get something to work. I put in a .eclipseextension file under each of the eclipse directories (under E-3.2) of CodePro and WindowBuilder. Then I went into the Configuration Manager in RAD 7 performed an 'Add an Extension Location' where each of the .eclipseextension files reside. That seemed to work.

The latest CodePro build (v4.5.1) should now install properly under RAD7.
