I am doing some testing on a piece of software that uses JOptionPanes to capture user input before any other Swing component. The recording of the test case was fine and caused no issues. However on playback I found that the test case wasn't actually providing the input etc. I found that to get it to work I had to create a JFrame and show it before the first JOptionPane for the test case to acutally provide the input.

This hopefully will be helpful to someone as couldn't find any information anywhere else.
