Native Dialogs support in WindowTester ?

Postby steevan » Wed Dec 15, 2010 3:59 am

Hi,

At present WindowTester does not have support for recording Native Dialogs like the File dialog.
Will this be fixed ? Is there any plan to support this in the future versions ?
Support for native dialogs is a very useful feature in testing applications based on Eclipse IDE.

Thanks and Regards,
Steevan

It is on the feature list, but there are no plans for implementation in the near future.

Thank you Keerti for the update.

I have one more query on Window Tester.
We can use Assertion Inspector to check whether something is "active" or "visible" ...
Can I use it to verify some text in output Window ( or some window like console window in Eclipse) ?
For example I would like to verify whether project build succeeded for failed.
Is this kind of verification possible in Window Tester ?

Thanks and Regards,
Steevan

We do not have built in support for reading text from the console in WindowTester. However, you can refer to the snippet at wt-commons http://code.google.com/p/wt-commons/sou ... rtion.java on how to do the same.

Hi Keerthi,

I went through the code snippet and also tried to run the same. It worked fine for single statement in the build console. Could you please let me know whether its possible to compare multiple lines in the build console. I tried to compare the multiple lines of text using the same code snippet, it did not work. Is there any other way by which we can compare the multiple lines of text using that code snippet.

Regards,
