IUIContext.enterText(String) and locales on Linux

Postby alexfr » Tue Oct 14, 2008 7:08 am

Hi,

I'm glad to see that now, the enterText method works almost perfectly on Windows, even with the German locale. Unfortunately there are still some problems on Linux, so that e.g. a string containing a star "*" is entered as a plus "+" which corresponds to the same key on a German keyboard. Of course we are using a call to WT.setLocaleToCurrent() at the beginning of a test. At the moment, I don't have the time to test every single special character on the Linux test machine to report which ones are affected, but maybe Instantiations could do some testing on their own for the Linux platform. Any progress in this field would be much appreciated!

Regards,
Alex

Hello Alex,

Do you have a bug report submitted for this? If not, please do submit one.

Thanks for you patience. With International keyboards, there are a lot of variations to work through!
