Testing swt application with an embedded browser

Postby sjayanty » Fri Jan 18, 2008 11:38 am

I am new to WindowTester and need some help in deciding if it is the right tool for our app which is a SWT application using Java Web start. The client launches an embedded browser and several interactions take place between SWT app and the embedded browser. Can WindowsTester test these interactions between swt and embedded browser? Would it be able to record user actions in embedded browser as well along with actions in the swt app?

WT does not currently support recording in an embedded browser. For testing the web content you'll probably need to use another tool. That said, it would be interesting to see how we could get WT to cooperate with an HTML automation tool, but we haven't explored it. If this turns out to be something you'd like to see done, please submit a feature request to:

Thanks!
