Borland dbSwing components in Swing Designer

Postby alspaughb » Tue Feb 07, 2006 7:36 am

Has anyone had success using Borland's dbSwing/DataExpress components in Swing Designer? I believe there are issues using some of the custom property editors outside the Borland IDE.

Borland has a quick tutorial on how to use these components in Chapter 17 of this text: http://info.borland.com/techpubs/jbuilder/jbuilder2006/database.pdf

If I'm able to do the corresponding steps in Swing Designer, I'm sold.

Have you tried them in Designer? Do they work?

If those components are implemeneted as valid Java Beans, they should work fine in Designer. OTOH, if their custom property editors require some Borland specific API, those editors won't work anywhere outside of JBuilder.
