Installation problem

Postby Toplus » Sat Apr 09, 2005 2:58 am

I have gone through all the documentation and installation notes and I just can't make the Designer appear in my Eclipse 3.0. I checked the versions and it seem to be ok. I copyed the directories to all possible locations (plugins, features and root directory) and followed all the solutions to the problems exposed in the installation notes. But nothing.

My system is Windows2000, FAT, Designer 2.1.0 and Eclipse 3.0.1 (I definetely tried to solve the problem of the FAT systems as said in the installation notes).

So I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or I don't look for the designer where is supposed to be (something like a menu in the Eclipse GUI, right?)... Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Why are you trying to install and old version like v2.1.0?!? The old v2.1.0 release has never been tested with Eclipse 3.0.1 as it predates that version of Eclipse. I would suggest installing v4.0.0 instead.

If the product is installed propelry, you should see a Designer page in the Eclipse Preferences dialog.

About the Installation problem

Well, I just tried that version because in the download page it appears to say that is supported by the version of Eclipse I have.

Anyway, definetely there is no designer page in the preferences as you said. I'll try the latest version as you suggests. Hope it will work

1) Run the designer-delete.bat script at the root of your Eclipse directory to remove all prior Designer plugins

2) Install Designer v4.0.0 or v4.0.1 for Eclipse 3.0

3) Delete your Eclipse configuration directory

4) Re-start Eclipse and confirm that a Designer preference page is available
