Problem with CardLayout and form inheritance

Postby mimmoz81 » Wed Sep 08, 2010 1:22 am

Hi, i'm using Window Builder Pro 7.6.0 with Eclipse 3.5.2

I have a problem using CardLayout in inherited panels and in "bean container" panels.

I've created a JPanel with CardLayout layout, and I put 3 JPanels inside it, each with its own content (1 label for each with different text..)
Window Builder shows me a nice small panel navigator in the upper right corner of the "Card" panel, allowing me to switch at design time from one panel to another one: this makes me able to modify the content of each panel with ease..

Now if I use the CardPanel inside another panel as a bean component the nice navigator does not appear anymore! This way I am not able to modify the content of the bean CardPanel (with has public lazy getter method to access its fields..), making the designer useless..
The same behaviour happens even if I extend the CardPanel: the navigator is invisible, making me impossible to modify the content of the panels contained in the inherited CardPanel..

Is there another way to switch between panels of the CardPanel?? Would it require too much time to release a patch to display the nice navigator even in inherited/container panels??

Thanks in advance for your attention
Luca

We have added better support for CardLayout in inherited panels in the latest build.

I have tried to do an update with Eclipse plugin manager at http://download.instantiations.com/D2WB ... pdate/3.5/ but the plugin manager reports "Our products are currently unavailable. Please see http://www.instantiations.com".
Is there another way to update my designer?

Thanks

Access info is currently only available to existing paid customers.

I could not find any customer records associated with your email address.

If you do have a valid, paid license, send your request and serial number to dev-tools-sales@google.com.

If you don't have an existing license, unfortunately, you will need to wait until the product is publicly available again.

Sorry, that should be dev-tools-sales@google.com.

In any case, I found your license based on the email address of your boss and have sent the info to you.
