Switched computers and need SwingDesignerPro

Postby AndyFaust » Sun Aug 15, 2010 11:53 am

Hi there. Congats on getting aquired by Google. About 45 days ago my company switched me over to a new desktop, and I am just now getting my Eclipse development enironment up and running. Unfortunately, I don't have my original SwingDesigner pro for Eclipse install files and I need to download a copy. It is fully licensed and I have an install key...I just need to download the install files.

Since I have a license to use the product, and have been using this product for about 18 months, I'd like to get the install files. Can you help me with this, or direct me to somebody who can? Thank you very much.

Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible to obtain a trial version of SwingDesignerPro. A co-worker of mine had performed some testing with your product and found that it was able to recognize our custom Swing components. I would like to continue the testing to verify that our components are fully compatible and functional. If you could provide me with a trial version, this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Send your request to dev-tools-sales@google.com. New evals are definitely offline temporarily, but they might be able to make an exception on a case-by-case basis.

We are hoping to make some announcements within the next several weeks in any case.

Eric, I appreciate your quick response to my post last week. I am still having a problem...basically I never got the email you mentioned. The problem could be that the email was sent to a generic email address at my company. The license is actually owned by the company I work for and not myself personally. In any event, perhaps you could give me a hint as to which email the instructions were sent to and then I'll know how to follow-up.

When I registered on this forum I put in my corporate email address which starts with
Andy.Faust......
My personal email address starts with
arjf....
And, the company the license is actually registered to is
Columbia Ultimate

If you could give me an idea of where it went, then I'll know where to go and look. Again, appreciate your assistance.

I sent it to your address (the one you use with this forum). Is that an issue?

Wow, that's weird. I am getting automatic email notifications from the forum when you respond to my posts telling me I had a response; however, that said, I never got the email with installation directions. If you attached a zip file that could be the problem. If you just sent a link with directions that should have been ok. I do have an alternate address...try arjf@bellsouth.net. That is my personal email...we might be getting messed up because of various corporate email content rules???

Hi Eric,

Same thing here. We have 5 licenses of SwingBuilder Pro and we need to get the current Version of SwingBuilderPro for Eclipse 3.5.x. Would be really helpful, if you could send me the download link of the product!

Thanks for your support!

Cheers

Lorenzo

BTW: Any idea on the future of SwingBuilder?

For Eric...
Everything downloaded and, after a minor bit of juggling, all is working ok in Eclipse 3.5. Appreciate the quick help and support Eric.

For Lorenzo

The full WindowBuilderPro product contains several components such as GWT, SWT, and SwingDesignerPro. I only have a license for Swing Designer. That said, when you go to the URL that Eric or support gives you to download the stuff for Eclipse, you will be allowed to download and install all the stuff for WindowBuilderPro. If, and only if, you have a full license, then this will work. However, if you're like me, and only have a license for SwingDesigner, after you install all modules, everytime you try and use one of the "design" pages, you'll be asked for a key.

Anyway, if you only have a license for SwingDesigner, then only install: "Swing Designer", the "Shared" module, and the "WindowBuilder 'common', 'core', and 'xml core'" modules; and don't install any of the others, otherwise you'll have licensing nag popup window problems.

As long as you are only editing Swing windows and have a license to Swing Designer, it should not matter whether you install just Swing Designer or all of WindowBuilder. It will only ask for a key, if you try to edit a non-Swing window (SWT, GWT, etc.). If you tell it you want to eval all of WB, then it won't ask you for a key at all.
