Form created with Swing Designer doesn't show designer

Postby Doug Beyer » Mon Jan 31, 2005 7:02 am

I'm new to Eclipse and am trying it only because I'm trying WindowBuilder. I successfully created a Swing application using the Swing Designer trial at home. I zipped up the source and brought it to work. I have the trial running there too. I opened the Eclipse project at work, opened a form that was created at home using Swing Designer, and I don't see any of the Swing Designer controls in the UI. I went to Window + Preferences + Designer + Registration & Activation and clicked my way thru that again leaving the already entered activation key alone. It said that "activation was complete". I hit "ok" all the way out. Still no plugin controls showing in the UI when I have the Swing Designer built form open.

How do I get the plugin to recognize the form?

Open the file with the Designer Editor rather than the standard Java Editor. This is described in the product docs and tutorial.
