Using Eclipse 2.1.3 with Designer 2.1 .. What determines what appears in the properties sheet for a given class ? I ask this because if I use a JTextArea no "enabled" property is displayed in the list , only "editable" ..

The enabled property is an expert property according to Swing.

You need to turn on the Designer > Swing > Display expert properties preference in order to see it.
