Using Eclipse 2.1.3 with Designer 2.1 .. What determines what appears in the properties sheet for a given class ? I ask this because if I use a JTextArea no "enabled" property is displayed in the list , only "editable" ..

The
enabled property is an
expert property according to Swing.
You need to turn on the
Designer > Swing > Display expert properties preference in order to see it.
