Button "Open definition" and action

Postby mkornatzki » Mon Jun 22, 2009 12:06 am

Hello,

if i select a JCheckbox in the designer or property editor and if i click then on the button "Open definition" the sourcecode editor open and show me the point where the chekbox where instantiated.

if i do the same with an action i didn't come to the point of instantiation but to the point where the action is assigned to a component.
this is a behaviour i didn't expect.
is this a bug?

regards,
michael

Not a bug. That was simply a design choice in v6.x.

Use v7.0.0 rather than v6.9.1 as it will select the location where the Action is instantiated rather than where it is used.

Thank you for your reply.

sadly i can not use v7.0 because the version has too many bugs although the version has many features we are waiting a long time.

If you are having any problems with v7.0, please report them.

As far as we know, all of the issues you reported have been addressed.

that's great to hear.

i have to prepare a workshop for august and i get the designer crashed with only 2 panels and a click in the property editor and then i thought that we can not use the version 7 for productional use.
i can't see a roadmap and/or an issuetracker like mantis or jira and for us it is not easy to see if and when a problem gets fixed.

i will install version 7 and report errors if i find some.

btw. you make a version on every day. does this mean that every day there are new bugfixes and features in the version? Do you have a changelog?

michael

The product is under continuous build so there is typically a new build almost every day (unless it fails to build for some reason or fails some test).

Any reported bugs are usualy fixed within 24-48 hours so bug fixes and new features are rolled out when they become available.

The a link to the change log is availabale on the product download page.
