How add a ComponentFactory to the palette

Postby mkornatzki » Tue Oct 28, 2008 12:23 am

Hello,

i want to add Components of a Factory like JGoodies Control.
How did one make these Entries?

For example i click "Add Entry" and then i only can select a class, not a method.

Can you please explain the way on the Example for com.jgoodies.forms.factories.DefaultComponentFactory.createSeparator(String textWithMnemonic)?

Thanks in advance

The current product release does not support this.

Powerful, general support for UI factories will be availble for beta test very soon (and is already available in our eRCP Designer beta).

For a preview, see the draft docs for the new Factories feature.

It is available in the eRCP Designer beta now and will be available in Swing Designer fairly soon.

I have a similar requirement, but it's the use of JGoodies Forms Builders rather than component factories. To develop our existing panels we have made use the non-visual JGoodies Form Builders to build panels and in some cases have extended the implementations of these builders to add additional functionality. Is there any plans to include support for these non-visual builders in Swing Designer or would you consider their use just a different approach to building panels?

Regards,
Paul

Swing Designer does not currently support that approach to building panels, but that is something we could possibly add in the future.
