Why this book was marked as "not for sale" on Addison-Wesley book page, and disappeared from the Eclipse series?

That is a poor choice of language by their automated systems. It should say "temporaily out of stock". The book proved to be so popular that the publisher actually ran out of inventory (it peaked as high as #646 on Amazon for example).

They initially printed enough to last for 4-6 months (or so they thought). They ended up selling all of them in 4-6 weeks and have now rushed into a second printing (which they tell me is almost all already sold on a pre-order basis). Barnes & Noble has also apparently picked up the book as a special for August.

The Eclipse Series page is set up to reflect only the books that they have in stock as well. Once their inventory is replenished, our book will reappear there automatically.

Thanks for your friendly answer.

Fortunately, I can still buy it from a bookstore in my country. :P

The publisher has finally replenished their inventory (they did a 2nd printing) and the book is now "for sale" on the AW site and back on the Eclipse series page.
