line spacing and examples

Hi,

fist of all i want to say that i am looking forward for your book
to hit the shelves!

I just wanted to mention that i think the line spacing is much to high.
You have to scroll and flip a lot of pages, while reading. Why don't you
use the normal line spacing from chapter 01 page 20?

And another thing i just noticed, because i wanted to create an
action in a submenu: Could you provide the plugin.xml for the
submenu example? When i wanted to implement my own examples
with my own ids etc. i was scrolling back and forth to get all the
right attribute settings and i had to use the extension view from
the plugin.xml to get make everthing step by step. In my opinion the
online tutorial from

http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article ... bench.html

is somehow better, because it is also useable as a reference at that
point. In your text, i have to gather all information from the different
sentences and imagine how the plugin.xml would look like.

Well, my wish would be to have more code examples, so that the book
could also serve as some kind of reference for users, that don't
want to use the fancy plugin.xml-gui, but write the xml by hand.

To cut a long story short: more usefull code and less line spacing
would be nice.

best regards,

The line spacing is purely a result of the template the publisher asked us to use while writing the book (apparently to make it easier to edit in hard copy). The actual book will use single spacing, so you should see at least a 2X reduction in the final page count when the book is printed.

Good idea. We'll see what we can do.
