Perhaps it is my mistake, but I can't find the troubleshooting section on the website. I'd like to post my problems to the correct place and since it is not specifically a Swing or a SWT problem, the forum doesn't have a right place either.

it seems to be my quality, to find out the solution myself, only after calling the help from others... :oops:

although I didn't find the troubleshooting section, i did find this page on which I saw that eclipse 3.1M4 is not supported. which brings me back to the site, for why is eclipse 3.1 (pre M5) ever mentioned in the installation process if it is not supported at all?

The product download page lists older product versions that will work with older versions of Eclipse 3.1 such as 3.1 M4 or M5.

Now that the Eclipse 3.1 GA is out, we no longer support any of the earlier beta versions of Eclipse 3.1.
