anyone with experience of VA Smalltalk with wine.
Specific issues known/encountered. Initial attempt through mint Linux is promising. Seems a lot better than doing original VA on linux. But as I load a serious config map and run it throws challenges up.. on some of the menu - sub menu access/ exception dialogues..
Will test and report at me end. Any heads up will be appreciated.

the issue is visible in the snapshot image enclosed.
Loaded a long chained Config map from a local repository ending with a debug window on one of the XML parser methods.
Looking through this to know where if it all it is a specific to this config issue.
the menu items are blanked out..

Just for historical purposes: I installed VisualAge Smalltalk 4.02 under Wine - and it worked even better than the up-to-date VASmalltalk 8.0 systems - no refresh problems at all. I just wanted to have a look at some features available those days ....

There is no snapshot enclosed, so we cannot see what you are seeing.

I've just downloaded updates for Ubuntu 9.04/AMD and this includes wine 1.1.31 and I can see no problems within the browser, the UML designer any more. That's the best version I've seen so far running under Linux ...
Some impression from VASmalltalk under Wine under Ubunutu 9.04/AMD:

I've updated (yesterday) to Ubuntu 9.10/AMD and this includes wine 1.1.32 and VASmalltalk is working there. Some impression from VASmalltalk under Wine 1.1.32 under Ubunutu 9.04/AMD (just before the update):
