I've a Vista client and connect against a repository on a Linux Ubuntu 8.04 - everything is fine, until the
screen saver get active (or the energy saving mechanism ...) and then the VASmalltalk IDE client looses
its connection to the Linux emsrv. After relogin again at Vista side and doing an action within the IDE
VASmalltalk I get an error, that the server is not responding any more.
The only solution seems to be to terminate the image. Restart the image and reconnect again.
Any idea ?

Hello,
At the very least, you should be able to do 'System -> Reconnect to server' from the running image. That has always worked for me in every situation.
As for loosing the connection, it seems the network card is set to go to sleep or in a power saving mode. Check the hardware driver. On my system, there is a 'Power Management' tab that says 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'. Make sure it is unchecked.
