Old executable application

Postby Bernard » Tue Jun 17, 2008 2:06 am

Hi,
we work with IBM.VisualSmalltalkEnterprise6.0.2 and i have to modify something in an old executable packaged application. I just have files Application, .ICX, paramConfig and extension and i would like to transform them to edit code.
Is it possible ?
Thank-you,
Bernie

Do you have access to the development environment used to package the app? Or to the original source code repository? Or to the source code in any other form (fileouts, etc.)?

Thank-you.
Unfortunately, it seems we have only the packaged application and the dot.ICX ...
So ?...
Thank-you again,

My first reaction is that they are out of luck. The packaged ICX is basically the equivalent of a compiled EXE.

Could you possibly decompile parts of it from the ICX? Maybe.

Would you ever be able to recover it to a state where you could make changes and then repackage it? No.
