Window placement with Task Bar at top of the screen

Postby jtuchel » Fri May 30, 2008 6:08 am

Hi there,

having to constantly switch between Macs and Windows boxes I like to place my windows task bar at the top of the screen.
Unfortunately, VA frequently (but not constantly) places windows (browsers, inspectors, debuggers) in way that the window's title bar is below the task bar. This can be extremely annoying because you have to move the task bar off-screen or to another edge of the screen in order to move or close these windows.

Perhaps this issue can be looked after for VA Version 8 or maybe later.

...Ah, and then there is this very annoying runaway behaviour of the debugger... If you run a loop with a breakpoint in it and you resume, the next time the debugger will be placed off some 20 pixels to the right and to the bottom, so that you have to follow it to press resume or over or whatever.

The debugger contains an option to close the window after resuming the last process. If you uncheck this option, the next break point will open in the same window. If you anticipate debugging many break points (or a loop with break points), this is worth using. It is a bit of a nuisance for the rest of the time. However, it can be quickly and easily toggled from one to the other.
