UiBinder + gwtext + GWT Designer

Postby majstori » Mon Mar 14, 2011 6:38 am

Is it possible to use GWT Designer to design gwtext UiBinder widgets? If it is, how can this be achieved?

I know it is possible to design gwt java files - gwtext widgets appear in Palette in design view, but those gwtext widgets don't appear in palette in .xml design view (there are only default gwt widgets).
When I add gwtext widget using uibinder in .xml, wigdet is shown when page loads. But, when I try to see that .xml file in design view, error occurs :

"Unable to load *.wbp-component.xml description.
For component com.smartgwt.client.widgets.Button."

Are you talking about GWT-Ext or SmartGWT? Your post mentions both.

I first tried with gwt-ext. Then I tried the same thing with smartgwt since gwt-ext has been superseded by smargwt.
I tried wih both but I was unsuccessful. For both I got that error. Sorry for confusion in the first post.

All I want is import gwt-ext (or smartgwt) into "Palette" (where System, Panels, Widgets, Cell Widgets and Menu are) so I can use it for graphical design of *.ui.xml files, UiBinder XML files. (drag'n'drop gwt-ext/smartgwt elements to *ui.xml file).

UiBinder does not provide an API for non-standard parsers, so, in general, SmartGWT won't work.
