GWT Designer "Design Mode" doesn't initialize behind VPN
When I start GWT Designer "Design Mode" while I'm on my company's VPN (which is most of the time) it refuses to initialize, failing with a "GWT initialization timeout" error message. When I logoff the VPN and work with a "straight-up" connection to the internet, however, it works just fine. I suspect it has something to do with how Eclipse treats the localhost; I also noticed that the Eclipse help system has the same issue (even though Eclipse itself for the most part runs as it should, e.g., the Eclipse Remote Software Updater works just find when I'm on the VPN). Does anyone have ideas what may be going on here? Better yet, is there anything I can do to get it to work while I'm on the VPN?

GWT Designer requires localhost communication as does the Eclipse help system.

If you have your VPN configured to prevent that, GWT Designer will not work.
