I can't seem to be able to instantiate a TextBox (or LongBox, IntegerBox, DoubleBox) from GWT Designer 8.1.0r35. Is it a known bug?
I press the "TextBox" button in the palette and nothing happens. The other widgets work though.

Am I missing something?

Anything in your Eclipse .log file?

What OS are you using? What exact JDK (version, vendor) are you using?

Make sure you are using the standard Sun/Oracle JDK.

Also make sure that you are using the latest GWT Designer 8.1 build...

In that case, you were likely running into a Linux OpenJDK bug that we added a work around for.

Switching to the Sun/Oracle JVM would have also fixed it.
