Ext GWT Standards or Quirks mode?

Postby deuce4 » Sat Oct 02, 2010 12:53 pm

Hi-
I noticed that in the Ext GWT documentation (helpful hints in http://www.sencha.com/helpcenter/index.jsp):

Doctype: Ext GWT requires the following doctype:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

However, when you use the WindowBuilder wizard it creates a standards mode doctype.

Is this an issue? I would prefer to use the Standards mode, but don't want to encounter any table related problems down the line.

You appear to be looking at old info. See their later info...

It would not make sense that now, when GWT itself states that it wants standards mode, GXT would work only in quirks mode.

We have been generating HTML for standards mode for quite some time now and no one has complained, so it probably works fine in any case.
