Windows 7 and x86_64 again...

Postby plindsay » Wed Mar 31, 2010 8:23 pm

Running x86_64 version of Eclipse and after installing latest Google's plugin, I cannot install GWTDesigner, any update when and if x86_64 under Windows will be supported?:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.

You will need to ask Google that one as it isn't a GWT Designer issue.

When I raised the issue on a gwt list I was given this link:

Clearly not the issue.

What issue should I raise with GWT team to resolve the 32bit install dependency in your plugin?

There is no 32-bit dependency in our plugin. GWT Designer actually works fine in 64-bit under Linux, for example.

The problem is lack of GWT 64-bit IE support. In order to get instantaneous WYSIWYG feedback, we run IE in embedded mode directly within Eclipse. IE will run embedded in 64-bit Eclipse with a 64-bit JVM, but GWT does not run in that environment. It will run if Eclipse and the JVM are both 32-bit. The OOPHM link you provided even references the 32-bit limitation under Windows using IE.
