black rectangle in design mode on Windows

Postby struzik » Sat Mar 13, 2010 10:24 am

Hi --

I am getting behavior similar to that described here: http://www.instantiations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=11548#p11548. It was working fine but now all my controls just show up as boxes in design mode. Any ideas?

Thanks.

That usually implies that Windows is running out of graphic resources. Have you tried rebooting?

Yes, I rebooted, but that didn't help. I do have more info, though: It seems like what is happening is that the root panel hight is getting set to 0. The only way to change that is to go into the properties of the panel and set it to something > 0 - dragging the panel to resize doesn't work.

I am on ubuntu 9.10 and using it successfully.

You can use metacity or compiz. You must set ENABLED
to Disable Preview Window flickering workarounds ( Linux Only )
on Common Preferences... ( window-> Preferences )

PS. Ops you are using windows... ( same time message )

Feel free to send us a test case (project) that will reproduce this.
