Google AppEngine deployment support?

Postby chadlung » Wed Apr 08, 2009 6:47 pm

With Google announcing Java support (and GWT) for AppEngine and their new Eclipse plugin that makes for a nice deployment system into AppEngine is it possible we will see that same functionality built into GWT Designer anytime soon?

We will be investigating that after we get our basic GWT 1.6 support done.

Having it built into GWT Designer is probably not necessary as long as GWT Designer and the Google plugin can work together. So far, they seem to work together nicely.

Yes. Our plan is to make sure that the two integrate nicely.

We are happy to cede any deployment work to Google's plugin. ;-)

For what specifically? There are a number of tutorials available for using GWT Designer (look at the 4th and 5th topics listin in this forum, for example).

No. Right now, we are simply forucsed on getting basic GWT 1.6.4 support done (of which Windows is now available).

Specifically, I want the following:

a) Create a GWT project using GWT - Designer (no Problem).
b) Add a support for Java AppEngine
c) Deploy to appengine using google plugin.

It's almost done. You can try it in the latest build, if you like.
