Support for 1.6 will come later this year.

1.6 is significantly different from 1.5, so GWT Designer won't support it without significant changes.

There's mention that there is a new suggested project structure. Will GWT Designer follow that?

A "release candidate" is not a release; it is a near final beta.

Based on prior history, it could be anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months before 1.6 is actually released.

Also based on prior history, there could still be significant changes between the release candidate and the final release.

Given how much work we have to do to support any new GWT release, we would rather do this work once based on the final release.

Thank you very much. I am also anxiously waiting for GWT 1.6 support :-) I have to start a new project and I'd rather not start it in 1.5 and then migrate it..

Basic GWT 1.6.4 support is now available for Windows only (Linux and OSX to follow) in the very latest v7.0 build.

Basic support means that you can use the existing GWT Designer wizards to create new GWT elements and compile and render your code using GWT 1.6.4.

Full GWT 1.6.4 integration including support for new GWT project structure, widgets, APIs, Google plugin, etc. will be available later.

Hi,

I've download Lastest build today. I'ts no working with gwt 1.6.4. I create a new project and selected the option "create new module (imageviewer) when I try to switch to design mode, the following appears:

Plug-in Provider: Instantiations
Plug-in Name: GWT Designer Subscription
Plug-in ID: com.swtdesigner
Plug-in Version: 5.1.0.200809031353

java.lang.NoSuchFieldException: closingListeners
.......

Any hints ?

v5.1.0 is not the latest. That version is from eight months ago and definitely does not support 1.6.4.

I would suggest installing v7.0 into a clean Eclipse environment using the GWT Designer update site.
