Hi!

Quick comment and question - I've noticed that while using GWT-EXT that when adding elements to a gwt-ext panel, things work fine as long as you add all elements to a panel and THEN add the panel in question to another panel. If you add the panel in question to another container, and then start populating a panel, elements do not appear when you run or preview.

Which leads me to...I need to add a panel as the last step in the constructor or one of the methods called during construction, is there a way to prevent gwt designer from appending to the end of a method and thereby 'moving up' (in the call stack) what is supposed to be the last step?

Thanks!

A better question would be how to get GWT-Ext to play by normal GWT rules and have GWT-Ext widgets behave like normal GWT widgets.

We have added a work around in the latest GWT Designer build that should address this GWT-Ext problem.

Heh, thats debatable.

The problem is that when add-on widget packages fail to play by the same rules as the built-in widgets, it makes them hard to support without adding a lot of special purpose code to the Designer.

Adding work arounds like this is fragile because you never know how the next version of the widget package will behave.

I understand, and what you've said is perfectly reasonable, and furthermore, I also agree with it.

I've had to stop using the gwt ext panels because of a problem with my framework and how those widgets work...

Hopefully, we can get them all to behave in Designer and provide 1st class support for them.
