[closed] minor issue with context menu in Design view

Postby peterblazejewicz » Thu Mar 20, 2008 2:27 pm

hi all,

here is correct context menu (CTRL+CLICK, etc, depending on mouse) on OSX version of GWTD:
just right-click anywhere within rendered components:
designViewContextMenu.png
context menu within Design canvas area
designViewContextMenu.png (53.74 KiB) Viewed 634 times

now unfocus components (so nothing is outlined) and context-click on "white canvas" (empty space) around rendered components:
designViewEmptyContextMenu.png
empty context menu within Design view
designViewEmptyContextMenu.png (43.23 KiB) Viewed 612 times

OSX 10.5.2/GWTD 4.0.0.200802210602 [nb: that version is downloaded from GWTD update page via Eclipse update manager)/jvm1.5

regards,
Peter

Peter,

This is rather weird issue which I cannot reproduce on my OSX 10.5. I have no any popup menu displayed when nothing selected.
Does "empty" menu contain any "items"? Hover mouse on it and see if any "item" draws hovering feedback.
I suppose that it is the SWT issue and not the Designer's one.

p.s. nice UI :)

hi Alexander,
You're correct that this could be SWT issue, I cannot repeat that myself (though I had taken screencapture with Grab tool yesterday. I had Eclipse crashing several times yesterday when I started to work, maybe that was something related. That was empty menu without OSX behavior (system color selection) and without any item in it. However it looked like already resized one (maybe panel content was drawn in different order they is shold above items and selection),
Please consider closed and sorry for bothering,

regards,
Peter

Looking closely at the image with the missing menu items, I wonder if it was some sort of temporary low-resource situation in the OS.

If this happened after having several Eclispe crashes in a row, rebooting probably fixed it.
