Black widgets

Postby nopalot » Wed Dec 05, 2007 3:12 pm

Hello,

sometimes, adding an absolute panel to a composite causes the composite and everything within to be drawn in black color on black background, so the whole composite appears black.
In this state, child widgets can still be placed and selected but the only thing thats visible is the border around the selected widget (which contains some white parts).
Restarting eclipse fixes the problem.
I'm running eclipse 3.3 on suse linux 10.3 (32 Bit) with GWT 1.4.60 and GWT Designer built on 04.12.2007.
This one's a little hard to reproduce - it just sometimes happens, but i can't reproduce it at will.
I hope the description is helpful anyway,
Thanks,
Nop.

You've mentioned earlier that you've installed the xulrunner to run GWT Designer against it. What version is the xulrunner installed?

GWT Designer displays the widgets exactly as they are rendered by the browser. If the widgets are displaying incorrectly, it means that there is a problem with the local browser (maybe a resource problem). If you reboot, does the problem go away?

Hello,

thank you for your assistance.
I've installed xulrunner 1.8.1.10-1.3
The problem appears from time to time. I havn't found a way to reproduce it at will, but restarting eclipse fixes the problem.
I'll have an eye on it and let you know if i find any more informations about it.
Thanks again,
Nop.

Make sure that you are using Eclipse 3.3.1.1 or 3.3.2 (earlier 3.3 builds had memory problems) and that your memory usage settings are sufficient...
