FormLayout - when available

Postby mfkilgore » Wed Oct 22, 2003 2:21 am

In reviewing the posts, I find that the last reference to FormLayout being available "real soon" that from September.

I have just purchased your product and FormLayout would be my first choice for development - depending on the likely availability. While more complicated the development can proceed with existing layouts, but I would hate to get started only to fine FormLayout is a week away...

Is there any update to the expected date for the release? How will I be notified when it is available? Is there an early test program?

Thanks in advance.

We hope to release an update with FormLayout support within a week or so. We took a bit of extra time to get it just right and try and make it extremely powerful. To give you a taste of what to expect, I added a "FormLayout Preview" page to the main web site. There you will see several screen shots showing different FormLayout operations in action. We also hope to get a flash demo in place soon as well. The most exciting aspect of the FormLayout is the support for dynamic snap points at the window margins, at the edges of possible target widgets, and to user-defined percentage points within the window.

When the update is ready, we will announce it here,on the newsgroups and via e-mail to anyone who has downloaded or purchased an earlier version. We haven't established an on-going beta program for the Designer yet, but expect to do so soon (as we have with our CodePro product).

Here are a few pics (for detailed descriptions, go here)...

Feel free to comment, make suggestions or ask questions. FormLayout support isn't finalized yet, but it is very close (as you can see).
