SWT Designer allows you to create the views, editors, perspectives, pref pages, composites, etc. that comprise Eclipse SWT & RCP applications and plug-ins.

After installing Eclipse 3.00M3, then installing SWT, GEF, and GEF examples I get the following error in the "Configuration Changes" dialog when I start Eclipse:
Graphical Editing Framework (2.1.1) requires org.eclipse.platform (2.1.1) or compatible...
My system is RH 9.0. I can duplicate this problem.
Anybody have an idea?
Thanks,

I had the same issue.
Removing the GEF 2.1.1 stuff from both the 3.0 plugins and features directory, getting the eclipse 2.1.1 release and installing it into a different directory, then re-unzipping the GEF stuff into the 2.1.1 install works for me now.
Using eclipse 2.1.1.

Christian,
Thanks for the answer. I'd rather not go backwards with Eclipse. I haven't bothered with SWT GUI UI designers until they supported M3 for this reason.

Paul,
You're welcome.
If you do a search on eclipse 3, I think Konstantin posted somewhere that he could send you a Jar that'll work with eclipse 3.
Have a great weekend,
Christian

Noted. But I saw the latest version of SWT-designer is _supposed_ to be compatible with M3.
We'll still hoping.

The latest version
is compatible with Eclipse 3.0 M3. Just make sure that you download and install the Eclipse 3.0 version from the download page. You
do not need to install GEF. With this latest release, it is built into the SWT Designer plugin.
