The content of the palette is context sensitive based on the type of window you are editing.

If your file has some sort of compilation or parsing problem, Designer may not be able to determine the window type and the palette will be empty.

Do you have an example or test case where this happens? I have never seen that happen.

Palette Empty

I don't know if this scenario qualifies, but when I create a MasterDetailsBlock Eclipse form component via Designer, I cannot add any widgets to it because the palette is empty. This is a real bummer because I want to layout my MasterDetailBlock visually but cannot. Any ideas how I can make it all work?

1) Make sure that you are using the latest v5.0.1 daily build.

2) Check the FAQ suggestions here.

3) Delete the Designer meta data here: <workspace>\.metadata\.plugins\com.swtdesigner

If none of that works, send us a test case (creating a MasterDetailBlock works fine on our end).

Eric,

I installed the latest daily build and everything works great now! Thanks for your help. Does this mean that daily builds are always stable? I typically shy away from them, especially during a product evaluation

The latest daily build will always have all of the latest bug fixes and the newest features.

If you run into a problem with an older build, you should always try the latest build to see if it helps (especially if it is substantially newer).

In many cases, the simple act of reinstalling the product will solve various installation / configuration issues.
