Please let me give you a bit of background on Instantiations. The company was formed in 1997. Our history goes back to the beginning of Smalltalk technology (1980) where our founders spent many years creating both Smalltalk IDE's (Digitalk's VSE and ParcPlace VisualWorks) and powerful add-ons such as WindowBuilder Pro for Smalltalk and a series of WidgetKits (ObjectShare Systems).
More recently we have created powerful products such as CodePro Studio for Eclipse and WebSphere developers. Instantiations is very committed to the Eclipse Project. We began working with a prototype version of Eclipse in January 2000 (it wasn't even called Eclipse yet at that point). Now we are a member company of the Eclipse Consortium and I'm on the Board of Stewards and chair the Marketing Committee. We lead the KOI Project in the Technology PMC and are active in the GUI Tools Project that is now forming.
We are very excited about the SWT Designer product and about working with Konstantin. As we looked around the industry for our "next big thing" we quickly discovered that the need for building rich client user interfaces in Java was underserved. This intrigued us because of our history of building tools to do just that in the Smalltalk world. Then we found SWT Designer and were immediately impressed with its capability. We began talking with Konstantin and found him to be a very smart, innovative guy with a great sense of how to create and enhance his products. The rest is history...and now we look forward to working with both Konstantin and you to make SWT Designer an even better product.
