When I installed the latest RC4 build (into a fresh RC4 eclipse install), it complains about not being for the correct version. It looks like it hasn't been updated for RC4 afterall (or at least the _check_ for RC4 hasn't been updated). Any one else having this problem?

The RC4 check was definitely updated, and I just tried it again to confirm it.

What version does it show you have installed on your main Designer preference page (send us a screen shot of that page if you can).

Looks it it was all my fault. It appears to be some caching problem on my end. The download wasn't really happening even though it appeared to be. Sorry for the confusion. Of course... now that installed 3.1 official release... I've got the same problem.

Best regards.

Missing the Help?

Postby cerebius » Thu Jun 30, 2005 1:34 pm

Installed the latest version into 3.1GA, started eclipse, No designer. Checked the Manage Configuration. Sees the install, shows a configuration error that no help is installed. Checked the download, only designer-delete.bat, features/com.instantiations.designer_4.0.1, plugins/com.swtdesigner_4.0.1, plugins/com.swtdesigner.fragment.jdt.core_4.0.1. Did not find com.swtdesigner.help anywhere. What am I doing wrong.

What do you mean by "No designer"? No "Designer" preference page? No "Designer" wizards? Did you follow all of the installation instructions (including cleaning your Eclipse "configuration" directory)? Did you review the relevant entries in the Designer FAQ?

Technically, that is just a warning as the help plugin is optional. That does not prevent Designer from working in any way.

If you want the help plugin, it is contained in a separate file downloadable from the same page that you downloaded the main product from.
