Step to reproduce:
- create a new XWT Application
- make the Shell with FormLayout
- open preference and switch between Automatic/Classic placement for SWT FormLayout editing mode

Give this a try using the latest WindowBuilder build...
http://code.google.com/javadevtools/dow ... -beta.htmlDue to the upcoming donation of WindowBuilder to Eclipse.org, the WindowBuilder namespace (e.g., feature/plug-in names) has changed, so you must un-install the version you currently have loaded (8.1.x) and re-install this new version (0.9.0) from the above update site.

The error is unresolved.
Designer [0.9.0.r36x201101161807.201101170916]: org.eclipse.wb.internal.swt.model.layout.form.FormLayoutInfoImplClassic cannot be cast to org.eclipse.wb.internal.swt.model.layout.form.FormLayoutInfoImplAutomatic
