I´m just wondering if there is any tutorial or manual available that explains how to use the FieldLayoutPreferencePage.
I googled several times - without success.

FieldLayoutPreferencePage is just a hybrid between a regular preference page and a FieldEditorPreferencePage.

In addition to the javadoc for FieldLayoutPreferencePage and FieldEditorPreferencePage, you might google FieldEditorPreferencePage.

If you are looking for docs on preference page field editors, here's a good article.
