Hi,
Any news on when we will get the tools for Form layout back? We just upgraded (long overdue) from 6.8 to 7.2 and experienced the same "surprise" as mentioned above - it is almost impossible to work with our existing GUIs since all of them use Form layout. Like already stated, I don't really see what the problem was. There were a few minor quirks, but all in all I think it worked quite well.
Do you have a date scheduled for bringing back these features?
regards

We are reviewing the various options for adding FormLayout power features and may even bring back the 6.x usage style as an option. Once we have decided on the best approach, we will have an approximate date.
In the mean time, keep in mind that v6.9.3 is also fully supported and may be installed and used simultaneously with v7.2. This allows you to easily continue to use the 6.x FormLayout editing style, if you wish.
