org.eclipse.ui.forms support

Postby dfayerma » Thu Sep 30, 2004 1:27 pm

Are there any plans to support Eclipse Forms framework in
org.eclipse.ui.forms?

We are moving towards using this framework as basis for all our future SWT development but I do not think it can be currently supported in the SWT Designer.

Thanks.

Yes. Eclipse Forms support is actually our number one development focus right now. We are making great progress, but it is a huge project nearly on par with what we did to add Swing support to Designer earlier this year. I would expect Eclipse Forms support to be available fairly soon (within the next month or so).

Nice!
You have shown a Managed Form with a MasterDetailBlock, which IMO is the toughest.

However, is there support for the equivalent of Form Page?

I have not figured out if such a thing exists!

Yes. Keep in mind that we are still working on Eclipse Forms support. It is a huge project, and we have made substantial progress so far (as you can see from the screenshot). We don't plan to start beta testing it until it is complete, however. We plan to support all of the Eclipse Forms widgets, layout managers and top-level components.
