eclipse forms status

Hi,

Eric suggests [1] that eclipse forms [2] support might be ready when 3.0 rolls out. What is the status of eclipse forms functionality?

Regards,
Vladimir

It's on our short list of features we would like to add. We've had other higher priority items that we've been working on for the last month or so (like enhanced NLS support, enhanced ViewPart support, improved code generation and parsing support, etc.).

Now that the Eclipse Forms API has finally been finalized, we can take a closer look at it. If you have example windows/editors that you have built using the Forms API, send them to us at support@swt-designer.com. The more examples we can get, the better we can make the product.

Where else to find better examples than PDE UI itself?

I hit submit too fast. IMHO code generator should be able to generate self-contained sections. Rather than creating sections using toolkit#createSection (as suggested by the above-mentioned Eclipse forms document), self-contained sections can be created by implementing SectionPart class. See PDESection from pde.ui project for details.

All the best,
Vladimir

We would be more interested in user-created examples.
