Update Sites

Postby frankc01 » Sat Dec 20, 2008 6:59 am

Where are the update sites to use from Eclipse?

I have purchased the RCP Development package and it would seem that Instantiations would be supportive of the Update Management capabilities in Eclipse.

Thanks

SWT Designer update sites can be found here...
http://www.instantiations.com/windowbui ... .html?id=2

We're still working on the rest of the products.

Is there an ETA?

I thought Eric once told me the same thing a number of months back

Is anyone reading these? Looking for an ETA for update sites on the rest of the products, specifically the RCP Developer.

They are being worked on. There is no ETA at this point.

Thanks Eric, but not the reply I was looking for.

The tools here are not cheap yet there are thousands of plugins (free or otherwise) that manage to have an update site. It's a convenience for the developer (us, the user) and the provider.

I can understand wanting future customers to go to the website, but existing paying customers should be considered into the overall equation. In that I asked this question quite a few months ago, I'm suprised that there has yet to be any effort to provide us a update site.

Customer,
Frank

There has been considerable effort to provide an update site, but it is neither trivial or simple when supporting many different products and multiple versions of Eclipse.
