Download windowsBuilderPro installation

Postby Xanderon » Sun Jan 23, 2011 8:58 am

Hi,
I'm working on a PC that is not connected to the Intenet.
I'd like to use WindowsBuilder Pro as my Gui designer for Ecplise (v3.6).
Is there a way to download an installation instead of using the Eclipse update mechanism?
Thanks in advance,
Ron

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
unfortunately, I stiil can't install WindowsBuilder Pro.
I get the following error:
"Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: SWTDesigner XWT support....
Missing requirement: WindowsBuilder Core for XML ... requires 'bundel org.eclipse.wst.sse.core.0.0.0' but it could not be found..."
I have Eclipse SDK 3.6.1 and read in the System Requirements that "The Eclipse JDT and PDE must be fully installed".
I'm an eclipse newbie and I cannot find installation of the JDT (and PDE).
Can you please help me with that?
Thanks in advace,
Ron

What Eclipse distribution are you using? If you are new to Eclipse, I would recommend the full Eclipse Classic (SDK) distro. Some of the other distros are incomplete and would require you to install the PDE first.

Hi,
I've downloaded the Eclipse Classic 3.6.1 distribution (eclipse-SDK-3.6.1-win32,zip file) and still cannot install the WindowsBuilderPro zip file. A Reminder - My development PC is not connected to the Internet.
Is there anyting else I need to download and install? I really want to use WindowsBuilder Pro.
Thanks,
Ron

Did you try installing everything except the SWT Designer XWT support and WindowBuilder Core for XML?

Alternatively, you woud need to go download and install WST or WTP from Eclipse.org.

Hi,
Thanks again for your reply.
I tried downloading and installing WST or WTP from Eclipse.org, but unfortunately, it complained that it need EMF. when installing EMF, it complained that it needs RAP. I think It is just getting too much work to keep up with each component's dependencies. Shouldn't all the component already be in the Eclipse SDK distribution?
anyway, I think that installing everything except the SWT Designer XWT support and WindowBuilder Core for XML would work - BUT - what feature will I'll lack (specifically - WindowBuilder Core for XML)
Thanks,
Ron

Hmmm. I can't imagine why EMF would require RAP unless you installed an EMF piece specific for RAP.

The Eclipse SDK only includes core Eclipse functionality. The web tools and XML editor are nit included.

SWT Designer XWT and WindowBuilder Core XML are used for XWT editing. You don't need them for normal Java SWT/RCP or Swing editing.

Hi,
Thanks Eric - I installed WindowsBuilder Pro without the SWT Designer XWT support and WindowBuilder Core for XML.
