If a CustomWidget has a BeanInfo class that returns custom property editor, Window Builder 7.4 shows the custom property editor for a specific property. Is it possible to set user defined Custom Property Editor using only "wbp-component.xml"? Could you give an example for that?

No.
Is there a problem with using the standard BeanInfo approach?

There is no problem with BeanInfo. I just wanted to know if I can use only wbp-component.xml

BeanInfo would be the best way to go here.
