VASmalltalk and Windows Server 2008 64-bit

Postby DEBRO » Wed Sep 29, 2010 3:07 pm

Hi there,

Please forgive me if this has been posted and answered already. I couldn't find it. Does an application built with the current version of VASmalltalk run on Windows Server 2008 (32-bit/64-bit)? I assume so because it is certified for Windows7 (32-bit/64-bit) but I wanted to be sure. If not, what are the plans to certify it? Thanks.
Take care,
Dennis

VA Smalltalk V8.0.2 is certified for Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit). We made no specific changes for Windoews Server 2008, so previous versions of VA Smalltalk back to V8.0 should run there also.

Just to clarify, V8.0 should be certified for Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)? I ask because the version history doesn't show this. It states Win7 support didn't pick up until 8.0.1 and Win7(32-bit/64-bit) support picked up in 8.0.2. Thanks.

We tested V8.0.2 on Windows Server 2008 R2, so that is the level that it is the version that is certified. I would not expect any problems running V8.0 on Windows Server 2008 R2, but it is not certiied there since we didn't test it there.
