Are there any goodies or packages that support SQL Server 2005/2008 native client? We would like to use the XML datatype capabilities of SQL Server. However, this is not supported by the default ODBC driver - odbc32.dll. Could it be as simple as updating the ini file to reference the new SQL native client DLL and updating/adding a few methods?

Hello,
Usually, native DB support requires calls into the vendor's DLL which is a large task because one has to make sure parameters are passed in and read out correctly.
It seems to me that Unity Software sold native SQL Server support years ago.

Hello,
Yes, bad link, but this one works
http://www.unitysoftware.com/, and click on 'Database Drivers' under 'Products'.

Rakesh,
if you have any luck obtaining the drivers (I've mailed Unity a year ago and never got a reply) please post your experiences with them. I'm very interested in "native" mssql connectivity.
Kind regards,
Louis

I am not sure if Unity Software is in business. All emails have bounced back from both domains unity-software.com and unitysoftware.com. The phone number seems to be disconnected too, with no forwarding information.
Tough.
