Asking for alternative platforms are pretty useless - I know. But considering the fact (am I right ?) that there will be more Solaris/x86 systems out there than Solaris/SPARC machines in the future, would it be useful, to have support for Solaris/x86 - at least for server systems ? Or would it be more clever to wait until all Sparc-based Solaris machines are vanishing and then get rid of that platform at all ???

Marten,
the timing for you question is probably bad. Who knows what happens if the Oracle deal fails...?
Okay, I'm a bot off-topic maybe.

Maybe....
But, right now I'm
much more interested in (desparate for) large image 64 bit support on Solaris/Sparc.
