Ok, now what I found out:
emsrv does work on this machine (running on a filesystem ext3)
it does not work on XFS filesystems
Bad, because I used XFS on my RAID system ...

Until now (for reasons that I am not free to discuss) it has not been possible to make any changes to EMSRV. This situation has been resolved and we can now consider enhancements (probably of a very limited nature). IF we make enhancements, they would not be done until after V8 is golden since I have way too much already on my plate for V8.

I can imagine that ... and we all would like to see the golden code at least at the US user conference at your headquarter
) ... downloadable in parallel with viewing the webcasts from that conference .... what about a second beta before that date
